Helen’s two decades of expertise are showcased in recent projects such as the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Minneapolis New Central Library.

Helen Torres has more than 20 years of experience in structural design for new buildings and renovations of existing structures. She has worked on award-winning educational facilities, laboratories and hospitals, performing arts venues, libraries, residential and commercial buildings and cultural facilities such as the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Minneapolis New Central Library and Rush University Medical Center Entry Pavilion.

Contributions to the Firm
She is the leader of the Mission Critical market sector for the Chicago office and coordinates its summer internship program. Helen has also been active in many firmwide standards initiatives in her 15 years with Thornton Tomasetti.

Outside of Work
A lifelong resident of Chicago, Helen lives with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and cooking.
