Tanya’s projects showcase her ability to coordinate and collaborate with international, multidisciplinary design teams and employ the latest delivery processes.

Tanya de Hoog is a founding director of Thornton Tomasetti’s London office. Her 15-plus years of professional experience spans Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, where she has worked on a diverse range of projects in multiple sectors and at various scales. Tanya works closely with the design team to develop structural solutions that achieve the design intent from the macro concept to the smallest structural details, employing the latest delivery processes such as building information modeling.

Challenging Success Stories
Her creativity and innovative approach are showcased by projects such as Basrah Sports City in Iraq, a large, fast-track stadium project featuring a complex building envelope of pre-fabricated multidirectional curved elements; and the award-winning Windmill Hill Archive and Study Centre in Waddesdon, UK, a largely wood construction research institution with bespoke structural detailing.

Honors and Recognition
In 2014, Tanya was named a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), the most senior grade of membership within the organization. She was also a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Teaching Fellow from 2012 to 2013, a distinguished position appointed by the university leadership.
