Steve founded the Kansas City Chapter of the ACE Mentor program and sits on the national board of directors.

Steven Hofmeister has 30 years of experience in the structural design and project management of major structural engineering developments around the world. He participates in the design, design management and construction administration of design-build and design-assist projects in numerous sectors, with a focus on sports facilities. A member of Thornton Tomasetti’s board of directors, Steve provides oversight and coordination for the Structural Engineering and Construction Engineering practices.

Sports and Public Assembly Expertise
With specialized expertise in signature sports and public assembly projects, he also oversees the strategic, management and technical aspects of the firm’s work in that sector. His portfolio includes the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Yankee Stadium in New York, and the Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) Center in Tulsa.

He has undertaken graduate studies in structural engineering and engineering management at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Kansas.

Outside of Work
Steve is always trying to find time to work in his shop, making additional cabinetry or trim for the house he and his wife Becky built 12 years ago, or to tinker with his collection of old Chevrolets. He occasionally helps coach the sports activities of his son and two daughters.
