George Washington Bridge – 2013 Biennial Inspection of New York Approaches



We were the prime consultant responsible for the 2013 biennial inspection of the George Washington Bridge New York approach roadways, Trans-Manhattan Expressway structures and Henry Hudson Parkway ramps and retaining walls. The scope of work included the inspection of 28 bridges, 283 spans, air rights buildings 1 through 4, bus station and depot structures, two abandoned tunnel structures, nine retaining walls, a Nervi truss structure for the bus depot and sign structures, in accordance with PANYNJ and NYSDOT requirements. Transportation also designed repair details for several immediate action conditions and performed load ratings according to NYSDOT guidelines. All work was performed within the project schedule.
