East 8th Street Bridge over Shore Parkway in Brooklyn, New York.
Transportation was retained by NYCDOT to provide resident engineering services for reconstruction of this access ramp structure that spans and provides access to the Shore Parkway. The four-span superstructure was replaced along with partial replacement of the substructure including modification of existing abutments to remain. The approach roadways were widened, reconstructed, and improved. The scope of work also included new bridge piers, bearings, stringers, concrete deck, deck joints, drainage, and lighting. The work was constructed while maintaining three lanes in each direction on this heavily-travelled parkway.
