Thornton Tomasetti provided construction administration services for an innovatively designed project containing 86 condominium and townhome units in a nine-storey tower linked to artist studios and galleries in a three-storey commercial building.
Enigma on the Park borders McGregor Park in the heart of Bloordale. The aesthetically striking exterior evokes dynamic movement and contributes to the revitalization a previously contaminated site adjacent to a rail corridor. The condominium consists of nine storeys above grade and a single level of parking below. The upper four storeys span across two separate building structures and that make up the base of the building. The upper section is designed using the corridor walls as concrete trusses that support the structure as it spans across the 15-meter-wide exterior corridor below, which eliminates the need for a thick transfer slab across the base.
