Hanging Lake Tunnel Investigation in Colorado.

Hanging Lake Tunnel Investigation

Thornton Tomasetti assisted AIG in reviewing the claimed scope of work and costs for the repair of a crack discovered in the ceiling slab of the eastbound transition tunnel of the Hanging Lake Tunnel Complex on Interstate 70. The tunnel roof slab failure was caused by a rock fall in 2006 at the Hanging Lake Tunnel, 10 miles east of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Our investigation included evaluation of the original structural design, review of repair design and methods, and review of scope and costs of repairs.
