Steel Modeling & Detailing – The success of Advanced Project Delivery lies in delivering a model to the steel fabricator in a format and manner in which they can rely on the information in that model. The model then becomes the basis from which the can execute their final shop drawings, and becomes the model that drives their CNC equipment during fabrication.
Thornton Tomasetti produces fully detailed structural steel models, final physical shop drawings (shop piece and assembly drawings), erection plans, erection details, field bolt lists and CNC downloads for projects of any scale and complexity. The fabricator and erector can use this information without any additional effort to fabricate and erect the structural steel. This streamlined approach to shop drawing production and approval shortens the project schedule.
Cast-in-Place and Pre-cast Concrete Modeling – Thornton Tomasetti can create a 3D model of cast-in-place concrete in Tekla. Volumetric concrete members and reinforcing steel can be modeled, delivering a model that can be used by the contractor for coordination between trades, quantity take-offs, scheduling and tracking purposes throughout the project.
We create 3D models of precast units in Tekla for use by the contractor. The precast contractor can be confident in the accuracy of the model, allowing for the prompt creation of shop drawings. The model can also be used for quantity take-offs, tracking, scheduling and coordination. In addition, the steel fabricator can use the precast model for coordination with steel for such items as bearing plate locations and steel connections.
