About

Mark Tamaro oversees operations in our mid-Atlantic South and Northeast regions and serves as a managing director of the firm. He joined Thornton Tomasetti in 1992 and has a wealth of experience in the structural design of new buildings and the investigation and renovation of existing structures, including historic buildings and monuments. He specializes in large-scale federal projects and is well-versed in fast-track and design-build delivery methods. Mark’s portfolio includes a variety of steel, concrete, masonry and timber-framed buildings for both private and government clients. Many of his projects have incorporated anti-terrorism force protection measures. Mark volunteers as a structural specialist for Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Urban Search and Rescue Maryland Task Force One, serving as a first responder to building collapses.
