Yi Zhu was the first employee based outside the United States to be named to Thornton Tomasetti’s board of directors, reflecting the firm’s increasing international presence. Yi had considerable global experience in the structural analysis, design and review of a variety of building types in both steel and concrete. His work included airports, sports and entertainment venues, commercial buildings, residential towers, long-span structures and mixed-use complexes.
