With last month’s release of ChatGPT-4, businesses of all shapes and sizes have been evaluating the potential impact of artificial intelligence on their operations. A number of AEC firms, including Thornton Tomasetti, have already been incorporating AI and machine learning technologies into their workflows. Chief Technology Officer Robert Otani spoke with Building Design+Construction about Asterisk and other custom ML apps that can automate design processes while measuring a building’s embodied carbon.
