Phase Two of the Concourse D Widening Project at ATL Opens

Phase two of the Concourse D widening project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is now open. The first planes arrived at the gates yesterday morning! The Thornton Tomasetti team worked closely with our partners—Corgan, Goode Van Skyke Architecture, Holder Construction, C.D. Moody Construction Company, Inc., Bryson Constructors Inc. and Sovereign Construction & Development—on the innovative modular construction approach that allowed new sections to be built off-site and installed with minimal disruption to airport operations.
The expanded concourse now offers more space, natural light and improved amenities, creating a smoother and more comfortable experience for passengers while setting a new benchmark for efficient airport construction. So check it out the next time you fly through Atlanta!
