Overview

The largest airport in the Nordic countries, Copenhagen Airport serves more than 20 million passengers a year and is a vital transportation hub for the region. To better accommodate the increase in facility demands and expected passenger growth, the proposed expansion for Terminal 3 will feature a larger open area for passengers, a new reclaim hall for baggage handling and a shortcut to a nearby metro station.

We are providing structural engineering peer review and sustainability services to Copenhagen Airport in pursuit of its sustainability goals throughout the design and construction process of its expansion.

Highlights

  • We assisted the design team by reviewing and analyzing the terminal expansion design with consideration of daylight, energy, comfort and MEP with materials / health / wellness / water.
  • In addition our engineers facilitated design and client team charettes to brainstorm sustainability goals and desires.
  • Lastly, our structural engineering peer review focused on how the structural design could help to meet the sustainability goals of the project.
