Echelon Studios Bushwick, the 355,000-square-foot media production campus in Brooklyn, New York, has topped out, marking the completion of structural steel construction. Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural and façade engineering, sustainability and LEED consulting, and building envelope commissioning services (BECx) for the project.

Designed to meet the demands of modern filmmaking, the development features six soundstages totaling 102,000 square feet, 162,000 square feet of office and support space and a below-grade garage with more than 230 parking spaces.

The Bushwick project presents complex structural and acoustic design challenges. Sound-isolating joints in 15-inch-thick concrete slabs help prevent noise from traveling between stages, while precast façade panels block exterior sounds. Long-span steel trusses support offices and other spaces above column-free filming areas, and distinctive 54-foot-tall rippled concrete panels define much of the exterior.

The all-electric campus is pursuing LEED Gold certification, with sustainability features including rooftop solar panels, 61 electric vehicle charging stations, water-saving systems and a high-performance building enclosure designed to exceed code requirements for thermal efficiency by 20%.

The milestone follows the August 2026 topping out of the 246,000-square-foot Echelon Studios Red Hook, another Brooklyn facility where our teams are helping bring new creative spaces to life.

Completion for both campuses is scheduled for spring 2027. Planning a complex production facility? Connect with our team to explore how wecan support your vision
