Overview
The Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington, Ontario is an academic building for McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business’ MBA and executive education programs and houses lecture rooms, classrooms, meeting spaces and commercial space.
We provided acoustic engineering and noise control design to IBI Group Architects for the building, which opened in 2009.
Highlights
- Our engineers addressed various acoustic challenges including reducing traffic noise from the adjacent highway, and providing acoustic separations between flex spaces by incorporating operable partitions.
- We carefully designed acoustic treatments for classrooms and lecture halls to maximize speech intelligibility.
