Ribbon Cutting Held for Oso Tower at UC Irvine’s Mesa Court

On Monday we joined the ribbon-cutting for Oso Tower at UC Irvine’s Mesa Court. The new residence hall adds 424 beds and vibrant community spaces designed to foster well-being, connection and sustainability. Students are set to move in this weekend.
Thornton Tomasetti provided structural engineering services to the Webcor/Mithūn design-build team. Supported by California’s Higher Education Student Housing Grant Program, Oso Tower showcases how affordable, resilient housing can support student success. Its reinforced concrete slab, column and shear-wall system delivers strength and resilience in a high-seismicity area, meeting UC Irvine’s construction standards while creating a safe home for students for years to come.
