R. Wayne Stocks

About

As Thornton Tomasetti’s president, Wayne Stocks is responsible for financial, legal and risk management functions across the organization. He oversees our global regions, ensuring that financial and growth objectives are achieved and resources are properly allocated across business units and geographies. Wayne is tasked with training and developing key regional and operational leaders. Working with the Co-CEOs and managing director, he leads the annual business planning, budgeting and goal setting process as well as long-term strategic planning. Wayne, who also sits on the board of directors, is co-chair of our inclusion and diversity committee and serves on the Thornton Tomasetti Foundation's board of governors. Wayne joined the firm in 1992. He has over three decades of experience in structural design, construction and project management for new and historic structures. His projects include Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., and The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Passionate about sharing the excitement of engineering, Wayne takes an active mentoring role at the firm and volunteers at STEM events targeting elementary and middle school 'future engineers.'
