Overview

Salt Lake City's tallest skyscraper is a luxury residential building featuring amenities such as a fitness studio, roof deck terrace, sauna and club lounge. The 40-story tower provides a variety of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including two levels dedicated to penthouse living.

We provided structural engineering and performance-based design services to HKS for the residential high-rise.

Here's how we are helping build Utah’s resilient future

Highlights

  • The structural system consists of flat plate post-tensioned concrete slabs and cast-in-place concrete columns. The lateral system consists of concrete shear walls at the building core and egress stairways.
  • Because the structure’s height exceeded the maximum allowable for a single lateral force resisting system, performance-based design methodology was employed to ensure seismic performance is equivalent to prescriptive building codes.
