Inter Miami’s Nu Stadium Opens at Miami Freedom Park with MLS’s Largest Canopy

Nu Stadium has officially opened at Miami Freedom Park, becoming the new home of Inter Miami CF. 

The 26,700-seat venue made its debut as Inter Miami CF faced Austin FC, marking the team’s first match in its permanent stadium. The project is a key part of a larger development that will include the city’s largest park, along with a new hotel, offices, entertainment, retail, and restaurants. 

Thornton Tomasetti provided structural and façade engineering, façade access design, and Advanced Project Delivery™ services, working alongside design architect Manica and architect of record Arquitectonica. The team also performed a peer review of the canopy’s connection and framing design, supporting construction of what is now the largest canopy in Major League Soccer.
