Managing Principal John Peronto was featured in Newsweek discussing the engineering challenges and construction logistics behind Jeddah Tower, the future world’s tallest building.
At an estimated rate of four meters per week, Jeddah Tower is climbing at a rapid pace. Located in Saudi Arabia, the tower is now nearing the 104th floor and is set to become the world’s tallest building and the first man-made structure to reach one kilometer in height.
In its coverage of the project’s latest construction milestone, Newsweek highlighted the engineering challenges involved in delivering what will become the world’s tallest building.
Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural engineering services for Jeddah Tower to Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, combining bespoke high-performance designs with advanced structural systems and materials. The work is being delivered in close coordination with the project team, including Jeddah Economic Company, Dar, Saudi Binladin Group (SBG), Turner International, Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, and RWDI.
