Kylie Schalz is a mechanical engineer at Thornton Tomasetti specializing in forensic engineering, property loss investigations, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire protection system evaluations. She has experience in engineering analysis, remedial design, and damage assessment for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential buildings. Kylie performs equipment failure analyses, building condition assessments, code compliance evaluations, forensic investigations, insurance claims support, litigation support, and expert witness services. She has worked on projects involving hurricane damage investigations in coastal areas from Texas to New York, as well as catastrophic property losses and complex building system failures, helping clients determine the cause, extent, and origin of damage. Kylie leads Thornton Tomasetti’s MEP forensic engineering team in Florida and the Mid-Atlantic South region.
