Philip Taylor has experience designing and assessing a wide range of safety critical elements - often subject to extreme loads (fire, blast, impact etc.) - and he has conducted accident investigations where components have failed prematurely and contributed to research for the U.S. Department of Transportation in relation to the fatigue life of modern head-hardened rail and the crashworthiness of rail tank cars carrying hazardous materials.
