Overview
The Portland FBI Field Office Complex consists of an office building and annex of approximately 120,000 square feet and a 100-space 60,000-square-foot parking facility.
We provided structural, seismic, and protective design services to Hammel, Green and Abrahamson for the $39 million complex, which opened in 2009.
Highlights
- By combining our experience and commitment to innovation with a project management approach that stressed communication and collaboration among the design team members, we were able to solve multi-hazard design issues while minimizing the amount of building material required, address tenant requirements in a rational manner, allow for iconic architectural forms, and include a fast track design processes, all while delivering a highly successful finished product.
- By utilizing real time data transfer systems, critically evaluating all design decisions at the concept and schematic design stages, and holding timely design charettes including key design team members as well as agency representatives, we were ultimately be able to incorporate all of the project’s security requirements, while designing a cost-effective, operationally sensitive, integrated, state of the art facility.
