New York, New York
A record-setting scoreboard, upgraded suites, and forward-thinking resilience – our work at Citi Field strengthens the Mets’ home base while giving fans a bigger, better game-day experience.
Our relationship with the New York Mets began with a shared goal: to keep Citi Field operating at the highest level while continuously improving the fan experience. Under a master services agreement, we’re providing ongoing structural, renewal, forensics, and resilience engineering, as well as protective design and security services, across the ballpark.
That partnership has grown into a close collaboration with design teams, including Populous, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and Gensler. Over time, we’ve become a reliable engineering resource – a trusted partner – supporting both headline-grabbing upgrades and behind-the-scenes infrastructure planning.
The centerpiece of the latest upgrades is impossible to miss: the most massive scoreboard in Major League Baseball history. We engineered the structural support system behind this enormous installation, whose scale demanded careful coordination and robust design to ensure long-term performance.
For fans, the impact is immediate: larger-than-life replays, ultra-high-resolution graphics, and expanded stats bring new intensity to every inning.
Renovations throughout the stadium introduced a range of upgraded premium spaces designed to make the fan experience more comfortable and flexible. We added and reworked suites, enclosed formerly outdoor areas, and incorporated movable partitions and new roof structures to make layouts easier to adjust for different events. Structural upgrades also supported new amenities, refreshed seating areas, and improved ADA access.
Together, these changes mean more inviting, adaptable spaces for fans to gather, celebrate, and enjoy the game while enhancing revenue for the ball club.
Beyond visible upgrades, we’ve also helped safeguard the ballpark’s long-term health.
Our team conducted detailed structural and architectural inspections as part of a Long-Term Capital Needs Assessment, followed by annual services focused on maintaining and improving structural steel, concrete, roofing, coatings, and façades.
We also evaluated flood vulnerability and the potential effects of projected design flood elevations near Flushing Bay on critical MEP systems. These studies support smarter resilience strategies, helping protect essential infrastructure against future risks.
Our involvement didn’t stop once construction began. We implemented vibration monitoring and developed mitigation strategies related to pile driving at nearby Etihad Park. Protective design and security reviews strengthened perimeter conditions and parking controls, reinforcing day-to-day safety and operations.
From a record-breaking scoreboard to expanded hospitality spaces and strengthened infrastructure, the upgrades at Citi Field deliver on multiple levels. Owners get a more competitive, resilient asset. Fans get sharper views, better amenities, and more memorable moments.
Every action on the field now plays out against a bigger, brighter backdrop engineered to keep the energy high, from the opening pitch to the final out.
