About

A key member of our Renewal practice, Jun Yu has considerable experience in the review, analysis and design of all types of structures, including commercial and industrial buildings, stadiums and parking garages. He specializes in the evaluation, design and construction administration of structural and building-envelope repairs, particularly for historic buildings. Jun has been part of the Thornton Tomasetti team since 2004, having joined the firm immediately after earning his Ph.D. His wide-ranging expertise includes the design of reinforcements and retrofits for damaged structures and building envelopes, evaluation of structural capacity in preparation for adaptive reuse and design of reinforcements for structural alteration. Jun has extensive hands-on experience in the investigation of existing building conditions. He also performs flood-risk and façade-condition assessments and has provided engineering design for the structural hardening and deconstruction of buildings.
