A multidisciplinary approach makes sustainability and the well-being of patients and staff the focus of a reimagined medical campus.
The new Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Redevelopment Program will consolidate various inpatient and outpatient medical services on a 72-acre campus into new buildings that will optimize operational effectiveness, reduce operation and maintenance costs and comply with seismic requirements per Senate Bill 1953. The project will implement Los Angeles County’s LEED requirements by incorporating sustainable design features, creating a campus designed for the well-being of patients and staff.
We are providing sustainability, waterproofing, façade and acoustical consulting services to HMC Architects, working in collaboration with CO Architects. The medical center replacement program consists of a new 545,000-square-foot acute care inpatient tower with 346 beds, a helicopter landing pad and a warehouse, a 370,000-square-foot outpatient treatment and support building, a 508,000-square-foot above-grade parking structure, a 23,000-square-foot facilities and IT support building, a 34,000-square-foot regional laboratory building and a new 11,000-square-foot central plant.
