Determining the best way for an asset, portfolio or organization to adapt to a changing climate can be daunting. Where does one begin? We work with owners and governments to develop climate resilience frameworks that provide a road map for achieving measurable success and continuous improvement over the short, medium and long terms. Our team, comprised of multidisciplinary resilience and sustainability experts, works side by side with you to develop customizable, scalable programs for the planning and implementation of practical climate adaptation strategies and to help guide investment decisions.

Here's How

Baseline, Targets & Strategy

Whether you are aiming to improve the resilience of a single building or want to plan for a portfolio of properties or infrastructure, we can help you prioritize the most vulnerable components to future climate change. We begin by diagnosing the primary climate risks and projected changes through the end of the century. We work with you to determine current operational baselines and develop a comparison to target desired performance, considering climate change and other uncertainties. With direct inputs from our clients, we use an analytical hierarchy process with weighted scoring to compare multiple alternatives and strategize priorities for improvement. Solutions may be evaluated for benefit-cost, social implications, life safety, level of risk mitigation or other relevant organizational objectives.

Implementation, Funding & Monitoring

Next, we work with your organization to select resilience solutions for implementation. The selected solutions may be policies, strategies, plans, codes and ordinances, programs, or an actual project. We can help identify and procure financial resources to steer and prioritize planning efforts as well as the potential for external funding, like FEMA grants. As the framework is implemented, we continue to monitor, manage and improve target performance including complying with any hazard mitigation fund requirements or identifying threats or hazards that have changed.
