Our People

Reyhaneh Abbasi Ph.D.

Senior Associate

Reyhaneh Abbasi is a member of Thornton Tomasetti’s forensics and investigations team, where she investigates and assesses complex steel and concrete structures. She integrates nondestructive testing, targeted destructive testing, and advanced numerical analysis to evaluate material condition and structural performance in highway infrastructure, transportation structures, long-span roofs, sports and public assembly venues, and specialty facilities. Reyhaneh uses finite element modeling, multiphysics analysis, and nonlinear ultrasonics to diagnose causes of distress, identify hidden defects, and support robust remediation strategies. Her work often centers on concrete behavior and durability. She combines field data, laboratory testing, and forensic record review to develop clear, engineering-led recommendations for asset management, repair, and renewal.
