Camden Yards Sports Complex

Overview

A stadium – it's where thousands gather in anticipation to watch their favorite teams face off. And yet, the crowds that bring life to stadiums also expose them to potential threats, making threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments (TVRAs) essential to effectively identify and mitigate these risks.

At Camden Yards, we performed a TVRA that entailed a detailed evaluation of the physical security components of the M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park. The physical assessment included standoffs, fencing, vehicle barriers, signage, paths of travel and security technology systems such as screening and detection systems. Along with the physical assessment, we carefully reviewed the policies and procedures for game-day post orders and conducted tabletop exercises with key stakeholders. This collaborative effort, which included our team of physical, operational and electronic security experts, resulted in a detailed risk profile for each park.

Highlights

• We formulated prioritized risk mitigation strategies from the risk profiles of each park, accompanied by rough order of magnitude cost estimates. The goal of these strategies is to establish a strategic roadmap for future security-related capital investments.
