Garage West Office Tower

Overview

As part of its vision for a 1.3-million-square-foot development around Back Bay station in Boston’s South End, Boston Properties is redeveloping the west side of 100 Clarendon Garage, located at the corner of Dartmouth Street and Stuart Street. The 27-story building contains office space above 30,000-square-feet of ground floor retail and pedestrian bridges linking the surrounding streets and the existing garage.

We are providing technical advice and façade consulting services to Stantec and Pelli Clarke Pelli on elements of the façade and waterproofing design, engineering of the façade systems, detailing, specifications and construction administration services.

Highlights

• The scope of work includes glazing and cladding systems for the commercial floors, metal and glass storefronts and entrances, cladding for bridges connecting to the garage base and 40 Trinity and the Back Bay MBTA Station as well as waterproofing and roofing.
• The façade systems include: a custom unitized curtain wall system with metal fins and shadow boxes for the tower with green roofs and amenity spaces at setback terraces; custom perforated cladding at the garage podium and glazed all-glass storefront systems with cable trusses or custom supports.
