FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Stadiums Showcase Thornton Tomasetti Engineering

As the FIFA World Cup 2026 unfolds across North America, several tournament-host stadiums engineered or renovated with Thornton Tomasetti’s expertise are welcoming teams and fans from around the world.
Among them is MetLife Stadium (New York New Jersey Stadium), which will host matches throughout the competition as well as the tournament final. The 2.2-million-square-foot home of the New York Giants and New York Jets was delivered with structural design and construction engineering support from Thornton Tomasetti.
Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia Stadium) is also serving as a FIFA World Cup 2026 venue. Thornton Tomasetti supported renovations to the stadium that added seating, improved circulation, and enabled larger high-definition video boards, modernizing the facility while increasing capacity and flexibility.
BMO Field (Toronto Stadium) is among the FIFA World Cup 2026 host venues in Canada. It underwent structural upgrades led by Thornton Tomasetti, including added seating, new suites and a long-span roof canopy.

In Florida, Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Stadium) is another key tournament venue. Thornton Tomasetti provided structural, façade, and construction engineering for major renovations, including a cable-supported canopy and suspended high-definition screens that transformed the venue into a more versatile event space.
SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles Stadium) will also host several matches. Thornton Tomasetti provided protective design and security consulting that assessed a variety of risks and identified enhancements to improve the venue’s overall safety.
