We’re working to decarbonize the world’s second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions – the power sector. In one example, our Applied Science team helped a large CCGT power plant take its first steps toward a lower-carbon future. Our client’s operating license required proof that carbon-dioxide capture equipment could be installed. We performed a high-level feasibility study to determine the size and layout of a facility that could trap over 90 percent of the plant’s carbon-dioxide emissions. The studied solution had to meet regulatory requirements for carbon-dioxide capture and water abstraction while minimizing impacts on plant operations.
