
From the addition of rail tunnels and subway lines to bridge and roadway modernization programs, the New York metro region has seen a wave of new infrastructure projects in recent years. As more funding for this work becomes available, various transportation agencies and their project teams will be looking for innovative, multi-modal solutions for the next half-century. In the latest issue of Roads & Bridges, Senior Principal and Transportation Practice Co-Leader John Deerkoski writes about some recent project examples as well as the challenges the engineering and construction industries face as the demand for new infrastructure work increases.
