About

Thomas Poulos leads the firm’s aviation market sector. He has an extensive background leading engineering teams in new design, modernization and expansion projects at commercial and military air facilities. With expertise in long-span structural steel roof design and a working knowledge of project delivery methods, Tom is able to create innovative and efficient solutions. His credits range from terminals and long-span hangars to cargo facilities and passenger spaces at regional and international hubs in the U.S. and around the world. Tom is also skilled in peer review, feasibility studies and forensic investigations involving aircraft facilities. A practicing structural engineer for more than three decades, he also has experience with office and residential buildings, mixed-use complexes, sports venues, healthcare and industrial facilities and education projects.

Tom has worked on more than two dozen projects at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, including American Airlines’ Hangar 2, which is said to be the world’s longest clear span, dual threshold hangar.
