Zachary Wiegand is a façade engineer at Thornton Tomasetti who develops practical, cost-effective solutions for complex building façades. He supports clients at every phase of the project lifecycle, from performance criteria development and evaluation of design alternatives through design and detailing, fabrication, testing, construction support, and field implementation.

Zach specializes in structural glass, cable and tensile structures, and dynamic systems. He applies advanced analytical methods, such as finite element modeling, and a comprehensive knowledge of codes and standards to optimize designs. He is also an expert in air and water infiltration testing, wind-borne debris impact testing, and wind tunnel testing. Zach’s experience spans new construction and renovations and ranges from sports arenas and airports to performing arts centers, commercial towers, embassy compounds, and cultural and educational facilities.
