Mark’s portfolio includes structural work on stadiums, hotels and such American icons as the Washington Monument and several Smithsonian buildings.

Mark Tamaro, the leader of the Washington, D.C., office, has more than 20 years of experience in the structural design of new buildings and investigation and renovation of existing structures, including historic buildings and monuments. He specializes in large-scale federal projects and is well versed in fast-track and design-build delivery methods. Mark’s portfolio includes a variety of steel, concrete, masonry and timber-framed buildings for both private and government clients. Many of his projects have incorporated anti-terrorism and force protection measures.

Contributing to the Profession
Mark has authored numerous articles and publications and presented several papers and lectures at industry conferences. He volunteers as a structural specialist for the Maryland Urban Search and Rescue Task Force One, serving as a first responder to several building collapses since joining in 1997.
