Heng Jiang Cheng has an extensive background in physical security design, research and testing. During a career that spans more than two decades, he has overseen security engineering for a variety of buildings and infrastructure. Cheng has incorporated counter terrorism design elements for high-profile Australian projects such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Parliament Houses in New South Wales and Victoria and the federal Parliament House in Canberra. His work has been implemented across security-critical sites and crowded places in Australia and internationally. He has been involved in the research and development of security equipment in such areas as hostile vehicle mitigation systems, secure rooms, vaults and ballistic barriers and holds several patents. He was responsible for the creation of high-strength barrier material composites, which led to the development and commercialization of vehicle barriers capable of sustaining significant energy loadings.
